 Like so many farmsteads along US-460, the site and building setting of the Animal Care Center echoes many familiar forms of the West Virginia and Southwest Virginia vernacular. Original design ideas included random width barnboard siding and trim porch railing with columns and a "tin" roof. An apartment area has been provided should there need to be someone available around the clock.
