The Equestrian Park Initiative Committee (EPIC) is examining the feasibility of building a multi-use equine events center in Mercer County. The proposed multi-use center should be designed to host a variety of non-racing equine passive and competitive activities (e.g., breed demonstrations, western, saddle seat, rodeo, show jumping, dressage, trail riding and 4-H activities). The center should also be designed to accommodate non-equine events, such as consumer tradeshows, concerts, family shows, sporting events, festivals and other civic/community activities.
EPIC contracted with gh2 Gralla Architects from Oklahoma, Crossroads Consulting Services (CCS) from Florida, Stafford Consultants and E.T. Boggess, Architect, Inc., both from Princeton, to conduct a two-phased market analysis and conceptual master planning, to be followed by architectural and engineering services for this project based on the determination of viability. The first phase consisted of preparing a development planning study by conducting a market and financial analysis for the proposed center. This study was developed by CCS. During this phase of the study effort, gh2, in conjunction with Stafford and ETB, analyzed the site, further refined the building program, prepared conceptual planning concepts, and estimated preliminary construction costs for the project. This imagery is part of the conceptual plans.
