Princeton Railroad Museum
| Princeton, as we know it today, began with the coming of the Virginia Railroad early in the Twentieth Century. The first commercial district literally rose from the railroad tracks up to East Mercer Street where a half dozen buildings still stand. The museum, which opened in the fall of 2006, commemorates the history of the railroad in our area and is a re-creation of the railroad station which served Princeton for many years. Several additional public and private sector projects are also being planned for the area. The prospect of turning East Mercer Street into a functional center for commerce, tourism, housing, & economic development by combining resources from a variety of souces will be beneficial to the city, local businesses, and area citizens. |
